So here’s my little morning routine on my run days before I head out. After getting up and scratching my butt for a few seconds I put the kettle on to make a cup of tea, then I get into the running togs … I give the ones I wore yesterday a little sniff to see if they can handle another couple of miles, and if so, I pull ‘em on, otherwise I get clean ones from the drawer.
By this time the kettle has boiled and I plop my PG Tips tea bag into the cup and while it’s brewing I check the dishwasher. Top off the tea with some milk and then I come and sit at the computer and check email, blogs, drudgereport and huffington post.
The cuppa is important, it re-hydrates me after a night’s sleep and it is warming. Not any old tea – it’s gotta be PG Tips or some real English tea from my childhood. Lesley says that I don’t drink enough water, she’s probably right, but I bet I drink at least 5 cuppas a day (I’m drinking my second right now) – and I think that’s as good as drinking that poncey designer water.
Once the tea’s down, I do some stretching and then head out to the starting line.
